Write for Lexfolio: Free Guest Article Programme

Lexfolio publishes guest articles by law students, young advocates, academics and researchers, free of charge. There is no publication fee and no fee to submit. If your article is accepted, it is published on lexfolio.in under your name with a short bio, read by CLAT, AIBE, NET and judiciary aspirants and law students across India.

Why write for Lexfolio

  • No publication fee, ever.
  • Your byline and bio on the article, with a link to your LinkedIn profile.
  • A citable publication for your CV, with the date of publication.
  • Careful editing by our editorial team before publication. You approve the final version.
  • Reach: every published article is shared on our Telegram channel and in our weekly legal current affairs digest.

What we publish

  • Analysis of recent Supreme Court and High Court judgments
  • Explainers on statutes, especially the BNS, BNSS and BSA, and on recent amendments and Bills
  • Exam strategy and subject guides for CLAT, AILET, AIBE, UGC NET Law, CUET law and judicial services
  • Legal careers: litigation, corporate law, judiciary, academia, internships
  • Law and society: plain-language pieces on rights and procedures for the general public

Guidelines

  1. Original and unpublished. The article must be your own work and not published anywhere else, including your own blog. Every submission is checked for plagiarism.
  2. Written by you. We do not accept articles generated by AI tools. You may use tools to check grammar.
  3. Length: 1,000 to 2,500 words.
  4. Accurate and sourced. Cite the statute section, judgment (with case name, year and court) or official source for every legal statement. Use footnotes or a sources list at the end.
  5. Clear and plain. Write for a law student reading on a phone: short paragraphs, headings, and an opening paragraph that answers the main question.
  6. No defamatory, communal or politically abusive content, and no comment on matters in which you are personally involved as counsel or party.
  7. Not legal advice. Articles explain the law; they do not advise individual readers.

Originality checks, your warranty and takedowns

Every submission is checked for plagiarism and for AI-generated text before it is considered. Submissions that copy or closely paraphrase another person’s work, in whole or in part, are rejected, and further submissions from the same author will not be accepted.

By submitting an article, you confirm and warrant that it is your own original work, that it has not been published elsewhere, that it does not infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights, and that every source you rely on is properly cited. You agree to be responsible for, and to indemnify Lexfolio against, any claim arising from a breach of this warranty.

Notice and takedown. If you believe an article on Lexfolio infringes your copyright, write to support@lexfolio.in with the subject line Copyright complaint, the link to the article, and details of your original work. We will disable access to the article within 36 hours of receiving a complete complaint while we look into it, and will remove it permanently if the complaint is upheld.

Rights

You keep the copyright in your article. By submitting, you give Lexfolio the exclusive right to publish it first, and a continuing non-exclusive right to keep it on the site and share it. After 30 days from publication you may republish it elsewhere, provided you mention that it first appeared on Lexfolio with a link to the original.

How to submit

Email your article as a Word file (.docx) to support@lexfolio.in with the subject line Guest article: [title], and include in the email:

  • Your full name as it should appear on the byline
  • A bio of up to 50 words (for example: year and course, college, or your practice or institution)
  • Your LinkedIn profile link (optional)
  • This confirmation, copied into your email: “I confirm that this article is my own original work, has not been published elsewhere, does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that I accept the warranty and indemnity on the Write for Lexfolio page.”

We reply within 7 working days with a decision or suggested edits. Accepted articles are usually published within two weeks of the final edit.
