What this internship is
Lexfolio runs a four week virtual internship for law students and recent graduates. It is not a reading course. You research and write real legal content, we edit it with you, and the good pieces are published on Lexfolio under your own name.
Applications are open on a rolling basis. There is no fee, and you are not paid. What you get is published writing you can show anyone, a certificate that names exactly what you did, and honest feedback on your drafting, which most internships never give.
What you will do
- Week 1. You are given a brief: a recent judgment to summarise, or a statutory provision to explain for a non lawyer. We send you the house style sheet and two worked examples.
- Week 2. You submit your first piece, between 800 and 1,200 words, with every proposition sourced.
- Week 3. We mark it up and return it. You revise. This is the part that teaches you most, so expect the draft to come back marked.
- Week 4. You write a second piece on a topic you choose, applying what changed in the first.
Work is checked before publication. We run every piece through a plagiarism check and we verify the judgments and sections you cite. A fabricated case or a wrong section number ends the internship, because material published under Lexfolio’s name has to be right.
On AI tools
You may use AI tools to help you draft, plan or check your writing. We ask only that the thinking and the words are yours, that every citation is verified against the primary source, and that nothing is copied from another writer. We are not interested in policing which tools you used. We are interested in whether the work is original and correct.
Your certificate
On completing both pieces you receive a certificate of completion that states what you actually did: the internship dates, the pieces you wrote, and whether they were published. It carries a unique ID, and anyone can check it at lexfolio.in/verify-certificate.
This is an internship with an independent legal education publisher. It is not a court or chamber internship, and it does not replace any internship your university requires under the Bar Council of India rules. Check your own university’s requirements before you rely on it for credit.
Who we take
Students of any year, and recent graduates. Places are limited because every piece is read and edited by hand, so we cannot take everyone who applies. What decides it is the writing sample, not your college or your marks. Clear, accurate writing that gets to the point beats a long CV every time.
