About Course

One copyright strike can freeze a channel, one careless reel can bring a defamation notice, and one undisclosed brand deal can attract a penalty under consumer law. Indian creators now work under copyright law, the BNS, the IT Act and the IT Rules (amended in February 2026 for AI content), ASCI’s influencer code, the government’s endorsement guidelines, SEBI’s finfluencer rules and the Online Gaming Act 2025. This course explains all of it in plain language, with exact sections, timelines, portals and model formats you can use the same day.

What you will learn

  • What copyright protects, how long it lasts and who owns content made with editors, agencies and co-hosts (sections 13, 17 and 19 of the Copyright Act, 1957)
  • What Indian fair dealing under section 52 allows, and how to use music, clips, thumbnails and memes safely
  • How Content ID claims, copyright strikes, disputes and counter-notices work
  • How to take down re-uploads and fake accounts using platform forms, the IT Rules grievance route (2 hour and 7 day timelines) and the Grievance Appellate Committee
  • How to protect your channel name with a trademark
  • Defamation under BNS section 356, privacy and personality rights, and the hate speech and obscenity offences to avoid
  • ASCI disclosure labels, the 2023 endorsement guidelines, section 21 penalties, and the special rules for finance, health and online gaming promotions
  • AI content labelling under the IT Rules 2026, brand deal contracts, and what to do, in order, when a notice, strike or FIR arrives
