From submission to publication
- Submission. Submit online with an anonymised Word file and receive a manuscript ID by email.
- Editorial screening. Scope, format, anonymisation and similarity check, which we aim to complete within 10 working days.
- Double-blind peer review. Independent reviewers assess the manuscript. We aim to send a first decision within 6 to 8 weeks of submission, or within 4 days with optional fast-track review.
- Revision and acceptance. Authors revise in response to the reviewers, and the editors confirm acceptance.
- Publication. The paper is copy-edited and published on its own page with a PDF, citation details and Google Scholar metadata, and each author receives a Certificate of Publication.
Our commitments
We never sell acceptance, guarantee publication or charge a fee at submission, and we do not claim indexing we do not have or pay for so-called impact factors. LJLPS is a new journal and will earn its identifiers in the proper order: an online ISSN after the first issue, DOIs through Crossref, and listing in open access directories once it meets their criteria.
Frequently asked questions
Who can submit to LJLPS?
Anyone writing original work in law, public policy or the social sciences: undergraduate and postgraduate students, Ph.D. scholars, faculty members, advocates, policy professionals and independent researchers, from India or any other country.
Is there any fee to publish in the first issue?
No. Volume 1, Issue 1 is free at every stage. Manuscripts submitted while Issue 1 is open stay free even if they are finally published in a later issue.
Is there a faster option?
Yes, optionally. Standard review is free. Authors who need a quicker decision can choose paid fast-track review (Rs 699, first decision within 7 days of payment), which puts your paper at the front of the queue with a priority revision round and publication within 2 to 4 days of acceptance. How fast-track works
Can authors outside India submit?
Yes. The whole process is online and in English. For issues after Volume 1, Issue 1, fees for authors outside India are listed in US dollars on the fees page and are payable only after acceptance.
Which citation style should I use?
For law papers, the Bluebook or OSCOLA, used consistently with footnotes. For other social sciences, APA. See the author guidelines.
Does LJLPS have an ISSN?
Not yet. Indian online journals can apply for an ISSN only after the first issue is published. We will apply as soon as Volume 1, Issue 1 is out and will display the number once it is allotted.
