About Course

Unpaid bills, bounced cheques, a buyer demanding 120 days’ credit, a customer waving a consumer complaint, a food safety inspection, an employee claiming dues, a competitor copying your brand name: these are the legal problems that hit shopkeepers and small businesses every week. This course shows you, in plain language, how to prevent them and what to do, step by step, when they happen, with exact sections, time limits, portals and forums under Indian law.

What you will learn

  • How to choose between proprietorship, partnership, LLP, OPC and private company, and why a partnership deed and firm registration matter
  • Which registrations and licences you need: Udyam, GST thresholds, Shops and Establishments, FSSAI and trade licences
  • How to write invoices, orders and agreements that protect you, including advance, refund, interest and stamp duty terms
  • How to recover dues through legal notice, cheque bounce under section 138 and summary suits
  • How micro and small enterprises use the MSMED Act: the 45-day rule, interest at three times the bank rate, MSME Samadhaan and the Facilitation Council
  • Consumer law and the E-Commerce Rules from the seller’s side, and your DPDP duties for customer data from 13 May 2027
  • Employer basics under the four Labour Codes: appointment letters, wage deadlines, PF, ESI, gratuity and the POSH Internal Committee
  • How to register and protect your brand as a trademark, handle inspections and notices, and settle disputes cheaply

Who this course is for

Shopkeepers, traders and wholesalers, small manufacturers, service providers, freelancers and consultants, home-based and online sellers, and first-time founders. No legal background is needed.

How the course works

The last module gives you checklists, a “what to do, in order” plan for unpaid bills, and model formats for payment demands, cheque bounce notices, customer replies and appointment letters.

How the certificate works

  • Final test of 30 multiple choice questions, mostly practical scenarios, with a 45-minute time limit
  • Pass mark 60%; you can retry if you do not pass
  • On passing, you receive a certificate with a unique ID that anyone can verify online at lexfolio.in/verify-certificate/
  • This is a certificate of completion issued by Lexfolio. It is not a degree, diploma or professional qualification, and it does not entitle anyone to practise law
