About Course

A wife told to leave the house she has lived in for years. A daughter asked to “just sign” away her share in the family property. A student whose morphed photo is circulating online. A new mother dismissed during maternity leave. In each case the law already protects the woman, but she, or her family, does not know how. This course explains women’s legal rights in India in plain language, with exact sections, time limits, helplines and step-by-step actions, so that you can act quickly and confidently.

What you will learn

  • The constitutional guarantees for women (Articles 14, 15(3), 21 and 39A) and how to get free legal aid
  • How to file a zero FIR or e-FIR, and the special BNSS protections when a woman reports a crime or gives a statement
  • Rules on arrest, search and medical examination of women, including no arrest after sunset save in exceptional circumstances
  • Protection, residence, monetary and custody orders under the Domestic Violence Act, 2005
  • Dowry offences, cruelty under BNS sections 85 and 86, and dowry death under section 80
  • Maintenance under section 144 BNSS, marriage registration, mutual consent divorce and custody basics
  • Workplace rights under the POSH Act, maternity benefit and equal pay under the new Labour Codes, and daughters’ and widows’ property rights
  • Fast takedown of intimate or morphed content, cyber complaints, sexual offences under the BNS and survivors’ rights

Who this course is for

Women of all ages, college students, homemakers and working women, families who want to support the women in their lives, and NGO and community workers, teachers and HR staff who are often the first point of contact. No legal background is needed.

How the course works

6 modules and 18 text lessons, each ending with key takeaways. A 5-question quiz follows every module. Learn at your own pace, on mobile or computer. Practical checklists and model letters (for police, the Internal Committee, a platform and return of stridhan) are included in the final module.

How the certificate works

  • Final test of 30 multiple choice questions, mostly based on real-life situations, with 45 minutes to complete it
  • Pass mark 60%; you can retry if you do not pass
  • Certificate with a unique ID, verifiable online at lexfolio.in/verify-certificate/
  • This is a certificate of completion issued by Lexfolio, not a degree, diploma or professional qualification, and it does not entitle anyone to practise law

This course is for education and general awareness, not legal advice for a specific case. For your own matter, consult a lawyer or your District Legal Services Authority (free legal aid for every woman; NALSA helpline 15100). Law as on 29 October 2026.
