LJLPS Article Processing Charges, Fast-Track Review and Waivers
The Lexfolio Journal of Law, Policy and Social Sciences (LJLPS) is free for readers. Standard review is free for every manuscript. To cover copy-editing, typesetting, hosting and indexing work, authors pay a modest article processing charge (APC), and only after a paper is accepted. Volume 1, Issue 1 has no publication fee at all.
Volume 1, Issue 1 (January to February 2027) is free. No submission fee, no review fee and no publication fee. Any manuscript submitted by 31 December 2026 stays free even if review pushes its publication into Issue 2; from Issue 3 onward, the standard article processing charge applies regardless of when the manuscript was first submitted. The only paid item is the optional fast-track review described below, which nobody has to buy.
Our fee principles
- No compulsory fee at submission, ever. Standard review is always free.
- No fee for manuscripts that are declined or withdrawn before acceptance.
- The APC is payable only after acceptance, against an invoice.
- Payment never influences an editorial decision. Editors decide on acceptance before any APC is discussed, and fast-track review changes the timeline, not the review standard.
- The Certificate of Publication is included at no extra cost.
Article processing charges
| Issue | One author | Two authors | Three or more authors | Authors outside India |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volume 1, Issue 1 (January to February 2027) | Free | Free | Free | Free |
| Volume 1, Issue 2 (March to April 2027), introductory | Rs 499 | Rs 699 | Rs 899 | USD 15 / 20 / 25 |
| From Volume 1, Issue 3 onwards | Rs 799 | Rs 999 | Rs 1,199 | USD 25 / 30 / 35 |
The charge is per paper, not per author: co-authors share one payment. Fees are inclusive of all applicable taxes. Any change to the schedule will be announced here in advance and will not apply to manuscripts already submitted.
Optional fast-track review
Authors who need a quicker decision, for example for a thesis, a job application or a promotion deadline, may choose fast-track review. It is entirely optional: standard review stays free, and choosing it is not needed for publication. Fast-tracked manuscripts move to the front of the queue. In standard review, editorial screening takes about 10 working days and a first decision usually follows within 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the number of submissions.
| Fee | Rs 699 per manuscript (authors outside India: USD 10) |
|---|---|
| Editorial screening | Within 2 working days of payment |
| First decision | Within 7 days of payment, after the same double-blind peer review that every paper receives |
| Pre-review check | Format and citation check before the manuscript goes to the reviewer |
| Revisions | Priority revision round: if revisions are requested, the revised version is re-checked within 5 days |
| Publication | If accepted, published online within 2 to 4 days of receiving the final version (and the APC, where one applies) |
| How to choose it | Select “Fast-track review” on the submission form and use the payment link shown after you submit. The clock starts when payment is received. |
Please note. Fast-track does not guarantee acceptance. Every manuscript is assessed on its merits, and one that is out of scope or fails screening can still be declined.
Refunds. If we miss either deadline for reasons within our control, the fast-track fee is refunded in full. It is not refunded if the manuscript is declined, withdrawn, or delayed because the author did not respond in time. The fast-track fee is separate from the APC.
Waivers
We offer full or partial APC waivers to authors who cannot pay, including students without funding and authors from low-income backgrounds or low-income countries. Ask for a waiver in the note to the editor when you submit, or when you receive your acceptance email. Waiver requests are handled separately from editorial decisions.
How to pay
After acceptance, the editorial office emails an invoice with a secure online payment link. Payments are processed by our payment gateway; Lexfolio never sees or stores your card details. Authors outside India who cannot pay by card can ask for an alternative method.
Refunds of the APC
If LJLPS cannot publish a paper after the APC has been paid, the full amount is refunded. If an author withdraws a paper after paying but before publication, the APC is refunded in full, less any payment gateway charges.
