LJLPS Author Declaration and Licence Agreement
Every corresponding author accepts this declaration and licence agreement, on behalf of all authors, by ticking the declarations on the submission form. It governs the relationship between the authors and Lexfolio, the publisher of the Lexfolio Journal of Law, Policy and Social Sciences (LJLPS).
1. Declarations by the authors
The authors declare that:
- the manuscript is their original work and has not been published before, in whole or in substantial part, in print or online (including on blogs and websites);
- it is not under consideration by any other journal or publisher, and will not be submitted elsewhere until LJLPS has decided on it or it has been withdrawn in writing;
- all persons listed as authors have contributed substantially to the work, have approved the manuscript and have agreed to its submission, and no one who qualifies as an author has been left out;
- all sources, quotations and data used have been properly cited, and every citation refers to a real source that supports the statement it accompanies;
- the manuscript does not infringe the copyright or any other right of any person, and contains nothing defamatory, obscene or otherwise unlawful;
- permission has been obtained for any third-party material reproduced, where permission is required;
- any use of artificial intelligence tools has been declared as required by the publication ethics policy, and the authors take full responsibility for the content;
- any funding and any conflict of interest have been disclosed; and
- for empirical work involving people, informed consent was obtained and participants’ privacy has been protected.
2. Copyright and licence
- The authors keep the copyright in the work.
- On acceptance, the authors grant Lexfolio a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to edit (for style and format only), publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive and index the work in any medium, to register metadata and identifiers (such as DOIs) for it, and to identify LJLPS as its original place of publication.
- The authors agree that the published work will be made available to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
- The authors may reuse and self-archive their work as described in the open access and licensing policy, citing LJLPS as the original place of publication.
- The authors’ moral rights, including the right to be identified as authors, are preserved.
3. Indemnity
The authors agree to indemnify Lexfolio against any loss, claim or expense arising from a breach of the declarations in section 1.
4. Withdrawal, corrections and retraction
- Authors may withdraw a manuscript at any time before acceptance by writing to the editorial office.
- After acceptance, withdrawal requires the editors’ consent and a valid reason.
- Lexfolio may correct, mark or retract a published work in line with its publication ethics policy.
5. Fees
Fees, if any, are governed by the article processing charges policy. No compulsory fee is payable at submission, and no publication fee is payable for Volume 1, Issue 1. Fast-track review is optional and does not affect the editorial decision.
6. Personal data
Author details are used to manage the submission, peer review and publication, and author names and affiliations are published with the article. Details are handled under the Lexfolio Privacy Policy.
7. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of India. Courts at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
