Take the free mock test

An AILET mock helps only if you treat it as a rehearsal and then spend as long reviewing it as you did sitting it. For the AILET 2027 paper (reported for 13 December 2026), take a mock every four to five days, in the exam slot, on paper if possible, and log every error by type so the next week of study changes.

Start with a baseline

Take your first mock cold. You are not trying to score, only to learn: how long you take on each section, which question types you miss, and whether negative marking is hurting you. A first score that looks poor is normal and useful.

Simulate the real paper

  • Length and time: 150 questions in 120 minutes: English 50, GK 30, Logical Reasoning 70, +1 and -0.25.
  • Slot: 2 pm to 4 pm, as reported for the exam. Practise at that hour at least twice.
  • Medium: print the paper and use an OMR sheet. Transferring answers is a skill with its own time cost.
  • Conditions: no phone, no pausing, no looking up an answer. If you pause, it is a practice set, not a mock.

Record at the moment of testing

While you take the mock, use small marks beside questions in the question paper: a tick for sure, a circle for a guess between two, a cross for a blind guess. You will use these in review.

The review method

  1. Score three ways: total, by section, and net of negatives. A total hides whether a weak section or too many wrong attempts dragged you down.
  2. Sort the wrong answers: misread the question, did not know the content, reasoned incorrectly, or ran out of time.
  3. Look at the circled guesses: if you guessed right, you still did not know it. Study those as if they were wrong.
  4. Re-solve each wrong Logical Reasoning question without looking at the key, then compare with the explanation.
  5. Write one rule per mistake, for example: “For weaken questions, find the conclusion before the options.”

Track a few numbers only

Keep a simple table: date, total, English, GK, Logical Reasoning, attempts, wrong answers, and the section on which you ran out of time. After three mocks you will see whether you are improving through accuracy or speed. If your score is flat while attempts rise, negative marking is eating your gains and you should tighten your attempt rule.

How to use the section scores

  • If Logical Reasoning is under 75 percent accuracy, spend the next week on question types, not more mocks.
  • If English accuracy is fine but time is short, practise reading with a timer.
  • If GK is the weak spot, revise your own notes, because mocks only test what you have read.

How many mocks and when

For the weeks before 13 December, a workable rhythm is one mock every four to five days early on and one every two to three days in the final ten days, with the last full mock at least two days before the paper. There is no magic number. Five mocks reviewed thoroughly beat fifteen mocks barely reviewed.

Check the source

Mock papers differ in quality and difficulty. Judge a mock by whether its sections and question counts match the real format, whether explanations are given for every question and whether its current affairs are recent. Do not read much into a mock score as a predictor of rank; it is feedback, not a forecast.

Where Lexfolio’s mocks fit

If you want ready-made papers, Lexfolio’s AILET 2027 mock tests are 3 full papers of 150 questions each with answer keys, section-wise analysis tables, explanations for every question, a printable OMR sheet and a score tracker. Whether you use them or other papers, use the method above. For the four weeks around them, see the AILET 4 week plan.

Final week

In the last week, one mock in the exam slot is enough, then review only. Fatigue loses more marks than missing practice. Keep confirming the official schedule on the NLU Delhi website.

Three mistakes that waste mocks

  • Taking mocks without review. A mock gives data, and review turns the data into improvement.
  • Chasing the score. A mock that is harder or easier than the real paper tells you little about your rank. Compare your accuracy and pace over time.
  • Changing strategy every mock. Test one change at a time, for example a different section order, and keep it for two mocks before judging.

Using mocks if you are also taking CLAT

If CLAT is on 6 December and AILET a week later, put CLAT-pattern mocks first and move to AILET-pattern mocks after the CLAT paper, as laid out in the combined plan. The AILET paper is quicker and has no quantitative section, so a mock in its own format is worth taking at least twice in the gap week.

A one-page review template

Write these headings on a sheet for each mock: score and net score; time by section; top three error types; five questions to redo; one change for the next mock. Fill it within a day of the test while the paper is fresh. After four mocks, put the sheets side by side. The repeated entries in the third and fifth rows are your real study plan.
