Final-year LL.B. students preparing for CLAT PG, judiciary exams, or AIBE alongside regular coursework and internships often struggle to balance everything. Here’s a practical approach.
Why coursework and exam prep aren’t actually separate efforts
Judiciary exams, AIBE, and CLAT PG all substantially overlap with your LL.B. subjects (CPC, CrPC/BNSS, Evidence/BSA, IPC/BNS, Contract, Property). Treating your final-year revision as dual-purpose — studying for internal exams and competitive exams from the same material — is far more efficient than treating them as two separate preparation tracks.
A realistic weekly structure
- Use your regular semester study time for depth and conceptual clarity on each subject as it’s taught, rather than only cramming before internal exams.
- Layer in MCQ or mains-style practice questions on the same subject shortly after covering it in class, reinforcing the material in the exact format your target competitive exam will test it.
- Reserve dedicated, separate time blocks only for exam-specific skills coursework doesn’t cover — CLAT’s reasoning and English sections, or judiciary’s mains answer-writing speed and structure.
Managing internships alongside this
Choose internship timing deliberately — a demanding internship in the same semester as heavy coursework and exam prep is a recipe for doing all three poorly. Many students use vacation periods or lighter semesters for internships specifically to protect focused study time during demanding academic terms.
