UGC NET Law Mock Test: How to Choose and Use a Test Series (Dec 2026)

A good UGC NET law mock test copies the real exam: 100 Paper II Law questions for 200 marks across all ten units, taken with Paper I’s 50 questions in one 180-minute sitting, with no negative marking. For the December 2026 exam (14 to 18 and 21 December 2026), plan on at least six full timed mocks between now and mid-December, and review each one the same day. Start with NTA’s own previous papers as free mocks, then use a test series for fresh questions in the NET formats.

What a good UGC NET law mock test must have

Apply this checklist to any UGC NET law test series, free or paid.

  1. Full length. 100 Law questions over all ten units, not a 25-question unit quiz dressed up as a mock.
  2. NET formats. Assertion and reason, match the lists, chronological order and statement-based questions, in a realistic mix.
  3. Current law. Criminal law on the BNS, BNSS and BSA (with old references), the Consumer Protection Act 2019 in Unit V, and recent Supreme Court rulings where the syllabus touches them.
  4. Explanations. Each answer should tell you why, with the Article, section, case or jurist.
  5. Original questions. A mock that only reshuffles previous papers tests memory, not knowledge.
  6. Timed conditions. Online with a clock, or on paper with you holding the clock strictly.

Free UGC NET law mock test options first

  • NTA’s previous papers. The most reliable free mock is a real recent paper. NTA releases each cycle’s question paper with the provisional answer key through the candidate login, and seniors usually keep a copy. See UGC NET Law previous year question papers for where to find them.
  • Older UGC papers. ugcnetonline.in lists CBSE-era papers from June 2009 to July 2018. These are useful for topic practice, though the pattern was different before July 2018.
  • Lexfolio’s free guides. Our syllabus guide and important topics list help you build a unit-wise checklist to test yourself against.

How to use a UGC NET law test series properly

  1. Sit both papers together. If your mock is Paper II only, pair it with a Paper I set and sit 150 questions in 180 minutes. The real challenge is splitting time.
  2. Split time on purpose. One workable plan is about 60 minutes for Paper I and 110 for Paper II, with 10 to spare. Adjust after your first two mocks.
  3. Answer all 150. With no negative marking, a blank is a lost 2 marks.
  4. Review the same day. Go through every wrong and every guessed question. Tag each to its unit.
  5. Keep an error log. One line per mistake, written as a rule. Read the log before the next mock.
  6. Track scores against cut-offs. In June 2026 the unreserved Law cut-off was 178 out of 300 for Assistant Professor and 204 for JRF. In December 2025 it was 188 and 218. Aim above the higher figure for your category.

Practise this in exam conditions. The UGC NET Law mock tests give you four full-length Paper 2 mocks for the December 2026 cycle, each with 100 new questions over all ten units, in NET formats (assertion-reason, match the lists, chronological order, statement-based), with explained answers. UGC NET Law Mock Tests, ₹149. If you also need unit-by-unit teaching, see the UGC NET Law (Paper 2) Complete Course, ₹1,499, which has unit tests and a full mock.

Where Lexfolio fits

Lexfolio’s UGC NET Law Mock Tests (₹149) are Paper 2 only: four full mocks, 400 new questions in total, with explanations. They do not include Paper I, so pair each mock with a Paper I set from a previous NTA paper for full 180-minute practice. The complete course (₹1,499) covers all ten units with unit tests and one full mock, for candidates who want teaching as well as testing. Lexfolio does not publish success rates, and no mock can promise a score. What it can do is give you new questions in the right format and explain every answer.
