An AILET mock test should copy NLU Delhi’s real AILET 2027 paper: 150 questions in 120 minutes, split English Language 50, Current Affairs and GK 30 and Logical Reasoning 70, with minus 0.25 for each wrong answer, written on paper because the exam is OMR based. With AILET on Sunday, 13 December 2026, you have about six weeks: solve NLU Delhi’s previous year papers first, then 6 to 10 full-length AILET mocks with careful analysis. Because Logical Reasoning is nearly half the paper, most of your AILET preparation should go there.

What a good AILET mock test must have

Use this checklist on any AILET test series or AILET sample paper, free or paid:

  1. The current split. 50, 30 and 70 questions, 150 in total. A mock with a separate Legal Reasoning section follows an older pattern and will train you wrong.
  2. 120 minutes, strictly. 150 questions in two hours is tighter than CLAT, which has 120 questions in the same time.
  3. Logical Reasoning with variety. Critical reasoning, analytical puzzles and some principle-based questions, since NLU Delhi says legal principles may be used in this section without needing legal knowledge.
  4. Current affairs from verified 2026 events, not recycled older material.
  5. Explained answers for every question, and scoring that applies the 0.25 deduction.
  6. A printable format, so you can practise on an OMR-style sheet.

AILET previous year papers: use them first

NLU Delhi links previous year AILET BA LLB question papers from its official exam details page. They are free and they are the real standard. Use them like this:

  • Pick the papers that match the current 150-question, three-section pattern, and write them as full mocks under a 120-minute timer.
  • Keep at least one recent paper for the last fortnight, as a final benchmark.
  • Note the type of Logical Reasoning questions that appear most, and drill those.

Never rely on question papers circulated without a source. Download from NLU Delhi’s own site.

Practise this in exam conditions. The AILET 2027 Mock Tests are three full-length BA LLB papers for 13 December 2026, each 150 questions in the real split (English 50, Current Affairs and GK 30, Logical Reasoning 70), with original passages and verified current affairs. AILET 2027 Mock Tests, ₹149. If you are also writing CLAT on 6 December, the CLAT UG Complete Pack, ₹549 includes the three AILET mocks alongside four CLAT mocks, the crash course and Legal Current Affairs 2026.

AILET preparation plan: now to 13 December

PeriodPlan
29 Oct to 15 NovTwo previous year papers and one AILET mock per week. Daily: 25 Logical Reasoning questions timed, one English passage, current affairs notes.
16 Nov to 5 DecIf you are also writing CLAT, keep CLAT mocks as priority and add one AILET mock a week to stay used to the 150-question pace.
7 Dec to 11 DecSwitch fully to AILET: two full mocks at 2:00 pm, sectional Logical Reasoning drills, current affairs revision including late November and early December news.
12 DecNo mock. Light revision, check admit card (available from 30 November in your login), route and documents.

Remember: CLAT 2027 is on 6 December and AILET 2027 on 13 December, a week apart. The week between is valuable. Our guide on CLAT vs AILET explains how to adjust.

Section strategy for the AILET mock test

  • Logical Reasoning (70): the biggest section and the first tie-breaker. Do the quick critical reasoning questions first and leave long puzzles for later. Aim to finish this section in about 55 to 60 minutes.
  • English (50): reading comprehension plus vocabulary and grammar. Fast reading is the key skill; read for the main idea first.
  • Current Affairs and GK (30): answer what you know quickly, skip the rest. This section should take 10 to 15 minutes, leaving time for the others.

These time splits are a starting point. Adjust them after each mock based on where your errors come from. For a detailed analysis method, see how to analyse mock tests, which works for AILET too.

Common mistakes in AILET mock practice

  • Practising only on screen. AILET is pen and paper; bubbling an OMR sheet takes time.
  • Treating AILET like CLAT. AILET packs 30 more questions into the same 120 minutes and weights the sections very differently, so it needs faster decisions and a different time plan.
  • Over-guessing. With 150 questions, many students attempt everything; at minus 0.25 a wrong answer, random guesses erode your score.
  • Ignoring the Logical Reasoning tie-breaker.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find an AILET mock test for 2027?

Start with NLU Delhi’s free previous year AILET papers on its official site, then use a mock series built on the 2027 pattern of 150 questions (English 50, Current Affairs and GK 30, Logical Reasoning 70). Lexfolio’s AILET 2027 Mock Tests offer three such papers with explanations for ₹149.

How many AILET mock tests should I take?

With about six weeks left before 13 December 2026, 6 to 10 full-length AILET mocks, including previous year papers, are enough if you analyse each one. If you are writing CLAT too, place most AILET mocks in the week after CLAT.

Where can I download AILET previous year papers?

NLU Delhi links previous year AILET BA LLB (Hons) question papers from the exam details page on nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Use the official files rather than unsourced copies.

Is AILET harder than CLAT?

AILET is not harder in content, but it is faster: 150 questions in 120 minutes against CLAT’s 120. It also gives Logical Reasoning far more weight, so practice priorities differ.
