CLAT PG (for LL.M. admission to NLUs) gets far less mock-series attention than CLAT UG, and most “CLAT mock test” marketing is really aimed at the undergraduate exam. Here’s what matters if you’re preparing for the PG exam specifically.
CLAT PG tests depth, not speed, differently than UG
CLAT PG’s 120 questions draw from Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and other core subjects at a conceptual, often scenario-based level — closer to how your LL.B. exams tested you than to CLAT UG’s reading-comprehension-heavy format. A mock series built by simply reducing a CLAT UG paper in length is testing the wrong skill.
Check the subject distribution matches the actual exam
Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence typically carry significant weightage in CLAT PG; a mock series should reflect that, not spread questions evenly across all core LL.B. subjects.
Why LL.B. subject notes double as CLAT PG prep
Since CLAT PG tests conceptual command of core LL.B. subjects rather than exam-specific tricks, solid subject-wise notes — Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Contract, Criminal Law — are more directly useful preparation than generic test-series marketing suggests. Mocks are best used to check gaps and build exam-day pacing, not as your primary source of content.
What’s worth paying for vs free
Free CLAT PG sample papers are adequate for diagnostic testing; a paid series is worth it mainly if you specifically want scenario-based application questions in the Jurisprudence and Constitutional Law style that CLAT PG favours, which are harder to find for free than straightforward MCQ banks.
