Delhi APP exam date 2027: what is confirmed
UPSC’s notification for Advertisement No. 11/2026 fixes the Delhi APP Recruitment Test for 9 January 2027, in the 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM slot. Applications for this cycle were open from 12 September to 2 October 2026, and that window is already closed. If you applied, your next task is the RT itself, not the application.
The RT is objective, meaning multiple choice questions with four options, and it is conducted only in English. There is no Hindi medium option for this paper, unlike some state-level exams.
Delhi APP exam pattern 2027: what UPSC has and has not said
UPSC has confirmed the date, the 2-hour duration, the MCQ format, the English medium, and the marking scheme. What UPSC has not published for this post is the exact number of questions or a subject-wise weightage. Any website claiming an exact question count or marks breakup for the RT is guessing, not quoting UPSC. Treat such numbers with caution until UPSC’s own admit card or information bulletin confirms them.
Because of this gap, Lexfolio’s own mock papers use a practice format of 75 objective questions per paper, built around the subject areas named in the Directorate of Prosecution’s recruitment rules, rather than claiming to mirror an official UPSC split.
Practise this in exam conditions. Two full-length mock papers, 150 original objective questions in total, covering the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, the Constitution and the special Acts named in the recruitment rules, every answer explained with the Act and section. Delhi APP Mock Papers, ₹149. See also the Delhi APP Complete Pack, ₹299, which adds the full notes.
How the RT fits into Delhi APP selection
The Delhi APP recruitment is not decided by the RT alone. The RT is used to shortlist candidates for an interview carrying 100 marks. The final merit list combines RT and interview marks in a 75:25 ratio, followed by document verification and a medical examination. Why the 1 November 2026 Delhi APP products exist
Because UPSC has not released a detailed syllabus or question-count for this new recruitment, Lexfolio built its Delhi APP materials from the Directorate of Prosecution’s recruitment rules and the exam pattern UPSC has confirmed, rather than copying an official blueprint that does not exist yet. The notes product and the mock papers are both built on this honest, clearly-marked basis.
Common mistakes candidates make
- Assuming the RT alone decides selection. It only shortlists for interview.
- Expecting a Hindi medium option. The RT is in English only.
- Guessing an exact number of questions from unofficial sources instead of waiting for UPSC’s own admit card or bulletin.
- Ignoring negative marking while attempting guesswork questions. See our Delhi APP negative marking guide for how 1/3 mark deduction changes strategy.
