Do you need an online course for CLAT PG at all?

Many candidates clear CLAT PG on self-study, because the syllabus is the LL.B. syllabus you have already studied. Before you search for the best online course for CLAT PG, ask three questions:

  1. Do my notes cover all 13 subjects? If Tax, Labour or Company Law were weak in college, a course that compresses them saves real time.
  2. Am I up to date? The BNS, BNSS and BSA have applied since 1 July 2024 and the four Labour Codes since 21 November 2025. If you studied the IPC and the old labour Acts, you need updated material.
  3. Can I read a judgment extract fast? The Consortium’s syllabus says questions test whether you can identify the issues, see related legal issues, summarise the passage and apply the law. If your mock scores are low despite good knowledge, you need passage practice more than lectures.

If your answers are “yes, yes, yes”, spend your money on mocks, not on a course. If not, read on.

What the best online course for CLAT PG must include

Use this checklist on any CLAT PG online coaching programme or LLM entrance preparation course, including ours:

  • Full syllabus coverage: all 13 subjects in the Consortium’s list, not a “top 6” selection.
  • Case-led teaching: leading and recent Supreme Court judgments with ratio and significance, since passages come from court decisions.
  • Current statutes: BNS, BNSS, BSA with old IPC and CrPC references; the Labour Codes; GST and the Income-tax Act, 2025 for tax.
  • Explained practice questions that cite the Article, section or case, not bare answer keys.
  • Full-length mocks in the 120-question pattern with negative marking applied in the score.
  • A dated plan that fits the days you actually have before 6 December.
  • Honest claims. Be careful of any provider that promises a rank or a seat. No course can.

Practise this in exam conditions. The CLAT PG Crash Course comes in three parts covering all 13 subjects: 177 pages of high-yield notes, 210 explained practice MCQs and a 45-day plan you can compress into the time left. CLAT PG Crash Course (complete), ₹599. For notes, judgment passages, mocks and current affairs together, see the CLAT PG Complete Pack, ₹999.

A 38-day CLAT PG crash course plan

Here is how Aman, an LL.B. graduate in Lucknow working on his own, could fit a crash course and mocks into the days left.

  • Week 1 (29 October to 4 November): Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Jurisprudence. One full mock on Sunday to set a baseline.
  • Week 2 (5 to 11 November): Criminal law under the new codes, Contract and Torts. Two mocks.
  • Week 3 (12 to 18 November): Family Law, Property Law, Company Law and IBC. Two mocks.
  • Week 4 (19 to 25 November): Tax, Labour, Environmental and Public International Law, plus recent judgments. Two or three mocks.
  • Last 10 days (26 November to 5 December): revise notes twice, read your error log daily, two or three mocks at 2:00 pm, nothing new after 3 December.

Self-study plus targeted material: a sound alternative

You can build your own course from free and low-cost pieces:

  1. Official material: the CLAT 2027 PG syllabus, format and instructions on consortiumofnlus.ac.in, and the previous years’ papers that the Consortium sells for ₹500 with the application.
  2. Primary sources: bare Acts on India Code and judgments on the Supreme Court’s website.
  3. Judgment focus: our list of important Supreme Court judgments for CLAT PG 2027.
  4. Mocks: start with the free CLAT PG mock test, then a paid set if you need more.

This do-it-yourself CLAT PG preparation course costs less and suits candidates whose LL.B. notes are strong. Its risk is drift: without a fixed plan, students over-read Constitutional Law and never reach Tax or Labour.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best online course for CLAT PG 2027?

The best online course for CLAT PG 2027 covers all 13 subjects of the official syllabus, teaches through leading and recent Supreme Court judgments, uses the BNS, BNSS, BSA and Labour Codes, and includes full mocks in the 120-question pattern. With about 38 days to 6 December 2026, a crash course you can finish beats a long programme. Check every provider against these points rather than rank claims.

Is a crash course enough for CLAT PG?

A crash course is enough if you studied the LL.B. subjects properly and add 8 to 10 full-length mocks with careful analysis. It compresses what you know; it cannot replace basic study of a subject you never learnt.

Can I prepare for CLAT PG without coaching?

Yes. The syllabus is the core LL.B. syllabus, and the official syllabus, format and previous papers are available from the Consortium. A fixed plan, good notes, a judgment list and regular timed mocks are what matter.

Is CLAT PG useful for jobs as well as LL.M. admission?

Yes. Besides LL.M. admission at participating NLUs, some public sector undertakings have used CLAT PG scores to recruit law officers. Our guide to PSU recruitment through CLAT PG lists the verified notices.
